Can you repair my roof instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. When damage is limited to a valley, a section of flashing, or a run of wind-lifted shingles, a repair is usually the right call. We recommend a full reroof only when the shingle field is failing across the roof or when repeated repairs would cost more than replacement.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family shingle reroofs run one to three working days, depending on the size of the roof, the pitch, how many layers come off, and whether the decking underneath needs repair. Tile and low-slope systems usually take longer. We give you a realistic schedule with the estimate rather than after the job starts.
Do you remove the old insulation before installing new material?
When the existing insulation is compressed, water-damaged, or contaminated, yes — it comes out first, along with any debris in the attic. If the existing layer is clean and simply too thin, topping it up is often the more sensible option, and we will tell you which situation you are in.
How do I know if my attic insulation needs to be replaced?
The usual signs are a second floor that never cools down, uneven temperatures between rooms, climbing utility bills, and insulation that is visibly compressed, patchy, water-stained, or contaminated. We inspect the attic and report what we find before recommending anything.

Do new roofs in California need to be cool roofs under Title 24?
Many steep-slope reroofs in Southern California climate zones must meet California Energy Code (Title 24) cool-roof rules when you replace the roof covering. That usually means a CRRC-rated product that meets aged solar reflectance and thermal emittance for your climate zone. Repairs that do not replace the roof covering are typically treated differently than a full reroof. We specify a compliant product on the estimate when the permit path requires it.
